I’ve been experimenting with some new glass, and oh my goodness, is it luscious! This is a premium glass which is made with silver…and almost everything I’ve made has come out with amazing vibrant colors and iridescent shimmers. It is delicious!

I’ve also been playing with ‘normal’ colors and having a lovely time making hearts!

And on the meeple-front, been trying new combinations of custom tinting, in all colors…I thought this would be great for wedding jewelry in particular! (please pardon the photo quality–these were fresh from the kiln and just cleaned, so sitting on a paper towel!)rainbow meeples by Jenefer Ham

And what else? … Travel/storage cases for my markers! These are now included with sets of 6 or 8, if that design will fit into the little compartments (some pieces are too large).  Aren’t these cute!

And then, there’s a few announcements:

Due to other travel and family commitments, I have decided to not travel to Essen this year (2019), however, possibly, my friend will hand-carry orders, as she did last year. I’ll post an announcement here when that’s decided.

In the meanwhile…I will be in England in July, so for my friends across the pond, let me know if you want me to hand-carry over any glass for you. That will save you the crazy shipping from the US, plus avoid customs and import fees. Hooray! To sort out the postage from Surrey to elsewhere in the UK, please add a UK POSTAGE item to your cart ($5) and then use the ADDTOCURRENTORDER code to delete the $14 international shipping charge. When you check out, please write “hand carry to England” in the notes.  [edit: I’ve adjusted the UK POSTAGE item to be for shipping within the UK or EU anywhere in the world…see comments below]  (If you are in the EU, send me a message and I’ll make up a EU Postage item for shipping to your country.) I’ll post from Surrey on July 3rd.

If you want meeple coasters or bowls, or other custom kiln-work, I can make them when I’m in England in July. I have activated these as pre-orders on my Etsy site and can ship them to non-US customers toward the end of July, and to US customers in early August.

Rahdo and I will be at Dice Tower West in a few weeks! I’ll be debuting new WITWAT with gorgeous silver glass colors there! Here’s a (slightly blurry–silverglass is hard to photograph!) sneak peak:rainbow WITWIT by Jenefer Ham

Whew! Well that was a lot, but it’s been a goodly while since I posted anything. Let me know in comments or via email if anything seems unclear. Thank you, as always, for reading and your input!  =)

Happy 2019!

Hi Liz. I will certainly try, but it’s dependent upon the goodwill of a friend. But I can guarantee to ship them in July from England…and you get them three months earlier =)

    These are soooo gorgeous!
It’s ironic how you are now closer to me (I’m in Canada) since your move to the US, but shipping is more expensive. I wish Canada would offer better options for shipping, if I want to send anything here other than a letter it is usually 15 to 20 $, even if it’s tiny, like the size of a necklace. It must be making it difficult for you for your Etsy business! My sympathies!
Despite the increase, I’m really really tempted to treat myself to a necklace from you sometime, especially love love love this new silver glass you are working with! Beautiful!

    Hi Sarah
Your comment got me thinking…would it be less expensive to ship to Canada from England?
    The answer: yes!
Then I thought…what about everywhere else?
Answer: yes! (except within the US)
Crazy, eh? But I’m gonna roll with it!
So I’ve adjusted the UK Postage charge so people can use it for wherever they want their glass shipped. Of course, this means the orders will ship on July 3 from England, but think about how proud you’ll be of yourself when December rolls around and you’ve already sorted all your shopping

      EDIT 4/22/19
On 3/31/19 I’d noticed that Royal Mail had another postal increase and now it is not worth shipping from the UK to anywhere but the EU (and within the UK)…so I’ve adjusted the listing on Etsy to reflect this. Sorry for all the changes, but I have no control over the various postal options…I’m just trying to find any way to make it more reasonable =)

Wow, Jen! What an awesome and outside of the box idea! I love it!!!
And this makes me even more tempted to treat myself now… My birthday is in July and I really think this year I deserve to give myself the gift of one of your beautiful necklaces!
I really love your new heart ones!

    Hi Sarah
Thanks! I try to think outside the box, especially when it comes to saving money on ridiculous postage fees. And the USPS just implemented another increase! I miss Malta’s very reasonable shipping rates.
Anyhoo, I am pretty sure that England in July will be an annual event, so my non-US customers can plan for that =)

Awesome! I’ll definitely make a note in my calendar about doing an order in time for your July trip to the UK. Smart way to deal with the shipping $. 🙂
