Well, I was totally excited because I’d made some glass dragon player markers. But then…while I’m giving them a nice warm bath Rahdo comes over and gently says “honey, dragons have wings.”
Ahhhh…right. I am apparently the Mother of Dinosaurs…and here I’d been thinking I had an awesome blog title.
But still, these little guys are darn cute, if I may say so myself.

So yesterday I tried making a winged dinosaur, er, I mean a dragon.
Ummmmmm, yeah it’s got wings…but wings are not what makes a dragon, me thinks…maybe it’s a hint (or more!) of danger…which clearly this doesn’t have. it’s more of a ‘hug me now!’ dragon.

So, let’s see…what sort of dragon-ish creature CAN I achieve? Well, I enjoy my chickens…they’re like little dinosaurs, and I love eggs…how about…Dragon eggs!
I believe I have captured a bit of dragon-tude in these. I think that green one might be a Norwegian Ridgeback and the black one a Hungarian Horntail.
So, I guess that makes me a Maker of Dragon Eggs!
Not quite so Game of Thrones, but…I can live with that.
PS For people viewing this on mobile phones, I know it’s hard to find the Etsy link on the mobile browser, so if you’d like to see the glass I have for sale on Etsy, please click here. Thank you =)
Love the eggs! They look great.
Still a very clever title from a very creative person about her very awesome artwork. I am pretty sure you are burnable by the likes of your glasswork torch, but you would still make a splendid keeper of the realm and queen of the kingdoms. The endless backstabbing and senseless killing would come to a halt. Don’t really know what I am getting at here. Just really had the urge to reach out and initiate some positive words of kindness to a wonderful queen of her little tiny “queendom”. Population 4. (2 humans, 2 dogs). Sorry chickens don’t count. Not in my book anyway.
Love
Ron
But…the chickens were part of the dragon egg inspiration =)
Thanks Ron, always nice to hear words of encouragement. The Lemoges are welcome in my queendom anytime!
The dinos are super cute, and the eggs are gorgeous! I really like how the dragon’s belly looks like the eggs too.
Rose, you’re very observant! The dragon scales and the eggs both incorporate fine silver (which is 99.9% pure silver) to get that mottled stoney look. I really like it as it’s so organic looking, and as a bonus, some of the glass colors have an interesting reaction when you put them with silver. Melting glass is so cool!
WoW!! The dragon is so cute!!
